This is a dynamic database extraction, developed by the UMKC Center for Economic Information. It will generate current and historical information with regard to employment, unemployment, and wages in the state of Missouri at several levels of sectoral and geographic aggregation. Input data are the result of two cooperative programs between the Missouri Division of Employment Security and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The CEI downloads this data monthly from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Users should be aware that the LAUS (Local Area Unemployment Statistics) program counts persons, while the SA (State and Area) program counts payroll jobs. For both programs, data for the most recent month is preliminary. It can and most probably will be changed. All data less than one year old should be treated as subject to major revision.
